What is a roller chain and where do we usually need it?
Roller chains are also known as bush roller chain. They are regularly used for mechanical power transmission in various industrial and agricultural equipment as well as two-wheeled vehicles, like bicycles and motorcycles, and so on. Advantages
They have higher efficiency and less wear for their special design. Generally speaking, a bush roller chain is composed of two types of links, inner links and outer links. And outer links alternate with inner links. Inner links have two inner plates which are held together by sleeves or bushings. Outer links have two outer plates which are held together by pins. And the pins pass through the bushings or sleeves of the inner links.
This kind of construction, to a certain extent, is able to help reduce the wear of both sprocket teeth and chains. However, even lower friction can also be obtained by lubricating chains. As a result, continuous lubrication of roller chains is of great importance for obtaining higher operation efficiency.
